Ngā Tāngata Microfinance Trust Receives International and National Recognition for Financial Inclusion Work

Ngā Tāngata Microfinance Trust is proud to announce two significant achievements recognising its commitment to improving the financial wellbeing of whānau across Aotearoa New Zealand. At the 2026 Money Awareness and Inclusion Awards (MAIAs), Ngā Tāngata Microfinance’s flagship financial capability programme, My Money Kete, received a Special Commendation in the Best Non-Profit Adult Education Project category. The category results were: Winner: Credit Canada Gold Financial Coaching (Canada) Runner-up: Aflatoun’s Brighter Financial Futures (Hong Kong & Singapore) Special Commendation: Ngā Tāngata Microfinance – My Money Kete (New Zealand) In addition, Ngā Tāngata Microfinance Trust was recognised in the 2026 MoneyHub Event’s Choice Awards, receiving the award for Favourite Microfinance Service. General Manager Vijay Farley-Naiker said the awards reflect the collective effort of many people who are committed to supporting financially resilient communities across Aotearoa. “These awards belong to everyone who has contributed to the success of Ngā Tāngata Microfinance.
